Adéla is moving from viral breakout to a wider pop audience with the release of her debut album, Prima. The Slovakian singer has also seen “Ain’t in LA,” the album’s third single, climb charts globally, while “Nicole Kidman” has become a viral hit.
Her rise began after she competed in 2023 on the K-pop reality show that formed Katseye. Though she was eliminated early, she later released music and videos independently, building a following before signing with Capitol Records in 2025. Her debut EP, The Provocateur, followed last summer to strong reviews.
“Ain’t in LA” celebrates women in cities outside the usual entertainment-industry spotlight. Adéla says she had to push for the track to be released as a single after her label initially disagreed. Its video was filmed in Bratislava and features local dancers, as well as the singer with her mother and younger sister.
The video for “Nicole Kidman” references the actor’s film roles and her widely recognised AMC advertisement. Kidman praised Adéla as “so talented,” according to the interview.
Adéla’s live shows pair high-energy choreography with pop vocals and irreverent onstage banter. At a recent London performance, around 2,000 fans sang along to an unreleased song, many wearing pink wigs and fishnets. The singer, who trained at the English National Ballet School after moving from Bratislava at 15, said the school holds fond memories for her.
Her audience has grown to nearly six million followers across Instagram and TikTok. Adéla said she is still adjusting to the attention and to criticism from some fans who have reacted to her shift from her EP’s electroclash sound toward the more polished pop of Prima.
Fashion has become another part of her public profile. Working with creative director Chris Horan, she has appeared in a MAC Cosmetics campaign, attended Saint Laurent’s Paris Fashion Week show and wore Marc Jacobs at the CFDA Awards. Adéla has said she wants to make music she would have loved as a child, when she looked up to pop stars including Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé.
