LONDON — Claridge’s has appointed British accessories designer Anya Hindmarch to create its Christmas tree for 2026. The installation will be unveiled on Nov. 25 in the hotel’s Mayfair lobby.
Hindmarch will reinterpret a traditional fir tree as a treehouse, incorporating its branches and twinkling lights. Claridge’s said the design will draw on a nostalgic fairy-tale atmosphere, with playful and whimsical details.
The designer said the hotel had long held personal significance for her, recalling celebrations there with her family and her 21st birthday. She hopes the treehouse will give guests and visitors an opportunity to create their own memories.
Thomas Kochs, managing director of the Maybourne-owned hotel on London’s Brook Street, described the project as a collaboration between two British names. He praised Hindmarch’s creativity and playful approach, while indicating that more details about a broader partnership would be announced next year.
Claridge’s annual Christmas tree has become a seasonal fixture in London and signals the beginning of the festive period at the hotel. Hindmarch’s design will be the 16th installation created by a guest designer.
Previous collaborators have included Karl Lagerfeld, Kim Jones for Dior, Sandra Choi for Jimmy Choo, Louis Vuitton, Christian Louboutin, Paul Smith, Diane von Furstenberg, Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s former chief creative and executive officer, and its current chief creative officer, Daniel Lee.
