For Spring 2027, Ghanaian designer David Kusi Boyedoe looked to the Asante Kingdom and the relationship between an Asante King and the Asante man. The collection, titled “Oath”—or “Ntam” in Twi—frames his approach as a pledge to his craft and a return to restoring and making known traditional silhouettes.

Rather than pursuing spectacle, Boyedoe focused on clothing designed to sell and be worn. The collection presents a commercially minded perspective on African fashion while retaining a narrative rooted in culture, community and craftsmanship. Most of the pieces were handmade by local artisans in Ghana.

Upcycled denim, sourced from textile waste dumped in Ghana, was transformed into the designer’s signature patchwork. Key looks included a mini patchwork dress, barrel jeans styled with an off-white blazer and medium-sized patchwork bags.

The collection also introduced an earthy colour palette through pieces such as an ivory coat and a moss green suit, expanding Boyedoe’s use of cultural references into a practical Spring 2027 wardrobe.
