Clarks has teamed up with Italian shoemaker Diemme on a three-style collection that gives some of the British brand’s best-known shoes a more rugged, hiking-inspired look. The Wallabee, Desert Boot and Desert Trek are all reworked with details drawn from outdoor footwear.
The Wallabee leads the collection in pale champagne suede from British tannery Charles F. Stead. Its familiar crepe sole is replaced by a chunky, lugged version inspired by soles used on Diemme’s Roccia Vet and Cornaro boots. Thick rope laces and a rubber mudguard complete the redesign.
The Desert Boot retains its classic cola-brown suede but gains a heavy-duty sole. The Desert Trek is turned into a mid-cut boot in black full-grain leather, with its signature center seam and Trek Man logo. Metal D-rings and a reinforced ankle give it a more substantial build than the other two styles.
Diemme was founded in Montebelluna, in northern Italy, and the collection is made at the brand’s factory in Veneto. The Diemme x Clarks range is scheduled to launch on November 5 through both brands and select retailers worldwide.
