A fall during the opening number of Dancing with the Stars’ Disney Night was not part of the choreography, dancer Diego Pasillas confirmed. His recovery was so smooth that some viewers initially thought the stumble was intentional.
Pasillas addressed the moment on Instagram, saying he had fallen on live television. He also demonstrated the move he was meant to perform before recreating the fall, adding that “the show must go on.”
Fellow cast members responded with supportive comments. Hailey Bills praised the way he got back up, while Val Chmerkovskiy joked about Pasillas turning the mishap into an impressive move.
The performance came during a busy Disney Night opening number that included a Newsies segment. Pro dancer Adele Zaikman had to miss the show because she was sick, and the report said her absence required changes to several performances. Troupe members filled in, with the opening number requiring the most adjustments. The troupe had been rehearsing on Monday before the show.
