The Gulf region has lost its status as the primary bright spot for luxury that it held at the beginning of the year. However, fashion brands and retailers are actively developing strategies to navigate this increasingly complex and volatile terrain. This shift follows a period of significant turmoil spreading across the Gulf since conflict erupted between the US, Israel, and Iran in February.

Despite these ongoing geopolitical and economic challenges, Dubai Fashion Week was held this season, albeit with some delays. During the event, there was little public mention of the regional instability. While the conflict has punctured Dubai's previous aura of invulnerability and led some to question the city's future trajectory, it has done little to erode the fundamental advantages that originally established it as the region's fashion gateway.

As the conflict enters its second month, business leaders, retailers, and brands across the area are relying heavily on crisis management protocols and contingency plans. These measures are being implemented to operate effectively within an environment characterized by heightened security volatility.
