General Motors has reportedly abandoned plans to expand the Corvette range beyond its traditional sports cars. The proposed lineup included an SUV, a fully electric model and a four-door fastback sedan, according to GM Authority, which cited internal company sources.

The vehicles were never formally announced or confirmed by GM, though the expanded range had reportedly been expected to launch by 2026 and viewed as a potential high-volume profit driver. The SUV was envisioned as a rival to the Porsche Cayenne. Chevrolet representatives declined to comment when contacted by Car and Driver.

Chevrolet will continue with the current C8-generation Corvette range, which includes hybrid powertrains, and is developing the next-generation C9. The company has also previewed future Corvette design ideas with the California Corvette concept.
