Lego has unveiled its largest Ideas set to date: a 5,363-piece Godzilla model inspired by Legendary’s Monsterverse design. The build is based on a fan-submitted concept by designer Matthew Esposito and was revealed on Godzilla Day.
The articulated figure stands more than 27.5 inches tall when fitted with its blue Heat Ray. Builders can place the beam in Godzilla’s mouth in place of its tongue, pose the head and arms, and position the segmented tail to either side. The model also features textured scales and jagged dorsal plates made from bricks.
Esposito said the project took more than two years to develop before reaching 10,000 community votes. Designed for adult builders, the set is compatible with the LEGO Builder app, which offers interactive 3D assembly guidance.
The LEGO Ideas Godzilla set is scheduled to release online on November 27 for $450. Orders during the initial launch window will include an exclusive brick-built Godzilla logo and footprint display as a gift with purchase.
