Lunay is bringing a touch of Puerto Rican warmth to UGG’s “Gift the Feeling” holiday campaign, joining Yeat, JT and KATSEYE’s Megan Skiendiel. The campaign puts personal connections, surprise gifts and comfortable footwear at the heart of the season.
In an interview with Hypebeast, Lunay said the partnership felt like a natural follow-up to his work on an earlier UGG clog campaign. He described the brand’s combination of style and comfort as a good fit and said he valued the campaign’s message about showing loved ones how much they matter through thoughtful gifts.
Lunay said he first noticed UGG boots for their comfort. While he had associated them with cold weather, he now likes that they can be worn with different outfits. When traveling from Puerto Rico to colder places such as New York, he relies on warm, comfortable clothes, including a hoodie, an oversized jacket and UGGs.
Family traditions are central to his Christmas celebrations. Lunay described making coquito, sharing lechón and arroz con gandules, and going to parrandas and chinchorreo with loved ones. He said the season in Puerto Rico is defined by music, food and family, and that keeping traditions alive and making memories together matters most to him.
When choosing gifts, Lunay pays attention to what people say they want during the year, then surprises them later. He said the most meaningful presents are those that show the giver has genuinely thought about the person receiving them. For the campaign, he hopes to encourage people to enjoy the season with loved ones and appreciate the small moments together.
