Rick Owens has opened a boutique at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, marking the Paris-based label’s debut in Orange County. The 2,306-square-foot store expands the brand’s retail presence in Southern California and joins the shopping center’s roster of luxury labels, including Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela.
The boutique offers Owens’ fall 2026 men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, as well as pieces from his home collection. Its design includes concrete prong sculptures previously shown in the courtyard of Paris’ Palais Galliera during “Rick Owens: Temple of Love,” a 2025 retrospective focused on more than three decades of his work in fashion and design.
Owens told WWD that the sculptures were meaningful in their previous setting and would be meaningful in the new store as well. He also said he was pleased to join South Coast Plaza, which he remembered as representing the best of the best while he was growing up in California.
The opening brings the designer back to a state where he grew up and launched his namesake label in Los Angeles in the 1990s. He relocated to Paris in 2003. The brand also has a California boutique on North La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles, alongside stores in New York, Miami and Las Vegas, as well as international locations including Paris, Milan, Berlin, Ibiza, Dubai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Tokyo.
