Bonobos has enlisted actor Skyler Gisondo as the face of its holiday campaign, marking the 30-year-old's first fashion campaign. Known for his role in A24's 'Primetime,' Gisondo brings a humorous touch to the campaign, themed 'Dashing Through the Holidays,' which launched Monday on Bonobos's digital and social channels. In skits and print images, he passes off a store-bought pie as homemade, rehearses an introduction to his in-laws and appears in other tongue-in-cheek scenes. He wears pieces from the holiday assortment, including limited-edition sweaters, chinos, a wool overcoat and a velvet blazer and pant. Gisondo said the campaign pokes fun at the things people do to try to make the holidays go smoothly. Joe Berean, Bonobos's chief marketing officer, said the holidays involve a busy schedule and a bit of chaos but are ultimately about having fun and feeling good, adding that the assortment is designed to make getting dressed easy and help customers feel confident.
The Tie Bar has created a capsule inspired by Searchlight Pictures' 'Wild Horse Nine.' The collection debuts Friday, when the film has its theatrical release. The film is described as a black comedy political thriller set shortly before the 1973 Chilean coup, with John Malkovich and Sam Rockwell playing CIA agents sent to Easter Island. The Tie Bar collection draws on the retro colors and patterns of the early 1970s. It includes three styles of polo shirts, neckwear and pocket squares in burnt orange and sage green with pops of navy, priced from $18 to $78. The collection will be available online and at The Tie Bar's Chicago flagship. Michelle Kohanzo, president of Tie Bar, said the film's world provided a rich starting point and that the pieces aim to capture the essence of the 1970s while feeling natural alongside contemporary wardrobes.
Robert Talbott has teamed with Cockpit USA, the official supplier of the A-2 leather pilot jacket to the U.S. Air Force, on a limited-edition outerwear capsule. The offering includes two American-made jackets. The lambskin Maverick A1-Style Leather Jacket retails for $1,895 and is inspired by button-front jackets worn by U.S. Air Corp pilots flying open-cockpit aircraft in the 1920s. It features knit cuffs and a waistband, flap pockets, a rib-knit self-closing collar, horn buttons and a cotton lining. The Captain Varsity Jacket, priced at $1,495, has a navy wool-blend body, lambskin sleeves, a quilted Robert Talbott lining, and ribbed cuffs, waistband and collar. Both are available online and in Robert Talbott stores. Cockpit USA, founded in 1975, has produced aviation apparel for the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army, NASA and other government agencies. Nick Picchione, president of Robert Talbott, said the collaboration joins two brands with distinct histories and a shared belief in making exceptional clothing. Jacky Clyman, executive vice president and co-owner of Cockpit, said a Robert Talbott tie pairs naturally with a Cockpit USA jacket.
