Couples who make it to the altar on Love Is Blind do not have to pay for their wedding ceremonies. Netflix covers the costs, although the show sets a budget for the weddings and not every requested detail is included.
Wedding planner Slomique Hawrylo told Tudum that couples complete a questionnaire about their preferred theme, tastes and overall vision. The production team uses their answers to shape the look of each ceremony.
Planning is handled by a team of around 35 to 40 people, who coordinate local vendors and arrange essentials such as food, flowers and cake. The show sets aside a pool of money for five weddings, with Hawrylo deciding how it is allocated. Tudum reported that, in season four, flowers cost between $50,000 and $60,000, while tents cost $120,000.
Couples can invite 80 to 100 guests; a larger gathering would put too much pressure on the budget. Some extras may also have to be paid for by the couple, including photographers or nail artists outside the production’s budget, as well as details such as monograms that are difficult to arrange on the show’s tight schedule.
Creator Chris Coelen told Newsweek that couples are welcome to add anything beyond what the production would normally provide.
