A24's Elizabeth Holmes documentary "You Can See Everything" took the top spot at the Friday box office, earning $3.56 million USD from 3,243 North American theaters as it moved into its third weekend. The result put the film narrowly ahead of Warner Bros. and DC's "Clayface," which had been expected to contend for the top position.

The documentary, directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, has now grossed $56.85 million USD domestically since opening on October 16, according to the figures reported. Rival estimates projected a weekend total of $10.65 million USD for the film as it widened its theatrical footprint nationwide. The project was developed quietly over three years and focuses on the Theranos founder in the month before she received an 11-year prison sentence.

A24 is positioning the film for awards season, with plans for across-the-board submissions at the 99th Academy Awards, including best documentary feature, best picture and director.

"Clayface" placed second with $3.3 million USD from 3,478 screens, bringing its domestic total to $36.9 million USD. The gory horror release is directed by James Watkins and stars Tom Rhys Harries. Laika's $100 million USD stop-motion film "Wildwood" followed in third with $2.39 million USD. The BTS World Tour "ARIRANG" in South America took fourth with $2 million USD, and Black Bear's comedic fable "Wicker" rounded out the top five with $1.43 million USD.

"You Can See Everything" is currently screening in theaters across North America.
