Comme des Garçons Homme and New Balance are set to release their 1890A collaboration on Friday, bringing the sneaker-moccasin design to stores after it was introduced during Paris Fashion Week in January. The launch will be available through CDG and Dover Street Market.
The shoe comes in two colorways, black and tan, with uppers made primarily from suede and leather detailing around the apron. Both versions feature silver “Comme des Garçons Homme” and “Abzorb” badges on the tongue and midsole.
The black pair keeps a largely tonal finish across its panels and sole. The tan version adds contrast with a sole that transitions from white to gray and clay red.
The 1890A is New Balance’s first 1890 collaboration. The model’s design combines an upper based on the 890v3 with the sole unit of the 2002. Pricing for the collaboration has not been confirmed; the standard 1890A is priced at $200.
