New Balance has released the 983 lifestyle sneaker in Bayberry/Concrete, a new colorway that offers a classic-looking option for the recently introduced model. The combination is not an exact match for the brand’s traditional gray designs, but draws on a similar palette.

The release marks the first time the 983 has featured suede on its upper. Earlier versions used glossy, patent leather-like synthetic materials. The shoe also has a mesh-based construction and elliptic-shaped ABZORB SBS cushioning pods set into its sculpted midsole.

New Balance introduced the 983 as a modern reinterpretation of its performance running footwear from the 2000s, adapted for everyday wear. The model was revealed in September and first launched in October, with the brand adding several color options since its debut.

The Bayberry/Concrete 983 is available from New Balance’s website and selected retailers for $160. Its style code is U9834L5.
