Nike has released the Air Max Goadome TecTuff, a more rugged version of its boot-inspired sneaker. The updated model brings back a 2013 edition of the silhouette, replacing its standard upper with TecTuff, a material designed to resist abrasion and water.
The upper has a firm feel, while leather remains around the collar for comfort. The shoe keeps the Goadome’s lugged outsole and is finished entirely in black. Nike lists the TecTuff model for $200, $10 more than the standard boot, and it is available through the company’s website.
Nike introduced the Goadome in 2000 as part of its ACG line. The model became popular in urban areas including the DMV and New York City, and has returned in periodic releases. Nike has recently given it a steadier place in its lineup, including the first low-top version of the boot this year. Although the Goadome is no longer marketed as part of ACG, it continues to carry the outdoor line’s branding.
