The 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards red carpet celebrated American design, with stars wearing looks by designers including Christian Siriano, Rachel Scott, Jason Wu and Ralph Lauren. The event has often produced memorable fashion moments, and this year’s outfits showed how runway designs can be adapted for the red carpet.

Allison Janney wore a pink dress with dramatic bell sleeves from Christian Siriano’s spring 2027 collection. She praised the designer’s talent and said they enjoy working together, recalling that Siriano had also made her dress for the opening night of “Other Desert Cities.”

Indya Moore wore a textured, voluminous look by Rachel Scott, whose womenswear design was named the night’s winner. Scott said the outfit interpreted a dress from her spring 2027 collection, which drew on the idea of a woman existing across time in the Caribbean. Moore described feeling like a sunflower in the dress and said their intention was to grow toward the light.

Awkwafina chose a black column dress with an embellished neckline by Jason Wu. Wu said they had met recently and become friends. Awkwafina called him a legend and said wearing a design by an Asian designer she admires was an honor. Wu said they had decided on a chic look for the awards.

Among the men, Matt Damon wore a traditional double-breasted tuxedo with shawl lapels over a black turtleneck, designed by Ralph Lauren. Damon said he has long loved the designer’s clothes, including wearing them for several “Odyssey” premieres over the summer, and praised how they look and feel.
