Caitlin Clark has been named the first brand partner for Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker. The WNBA star was introduced in the role at an event Wednesday, where she spoke about her longstanding connection to Dick’s and the companies’ plans to reach basketball fans in the United States and abroad.
Clark recalled shopping at Dick’s as a child for equipment and basketball shoes. She said the partnership could help fans find products including her Wilson basketball and signature Nike footwear through the retailers.
The agreement includes national and global campaigns, promotions for Clark’s footwear, apparel and other products, retail and digital experiences, fan events, appearances and community programming. Dick’s executive chairman Ed Stack said Clark’s influence extends beyond basketball and described her as an inspiration to young people, particularly girls.
Stack also linked the partnership to shared charitable priorities. Clark’s foundation aims to support young people through education, nutrition and sports, while Dick’s Sports Matter initiative also focuses on youth and access to sports. Stack said the organizations’ work has common ground in giving children a place to belong through sport.
Clark said sports have helped her build lasting relationships with teammates and coaches. She highlighted the value of team environments, where people can support one another when things do not go as planned.
The partnership adds to Clark’s existing relationship with Nike. Her signature Nike Caitlin 1 shoe debuted on Oct. 1 alongside a small apparel collection featuring her interlocking CC logo.
