Hannah Chody, a creator with over 387,000 followers, recently made headlines by transforming a three-year search for a discontinued makeup shade into a record-breaking product launch. This month, she introduced Bellini, a shimmery rose-gold eyeshadow created in partnership with Saie. The product is based on Golden Peach, a hue from Tom Ford Beauty that Chody had long sought to replace after discovering it was no longer in production.

Bellini launched on October 15 as a permanent addition to Saie's SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadows collection and achieved immediate commercial success. According to the Business of Fashion, the item sold out within hours of its release. Saie reported that it became the most searched-for brand on Sephora's website that day, a claim confirmed by Sephora. Additionally, an exclusive gift set featuring Bellini available on TikTok Shop allegedly set a new record for the highest unit sales of any featured brand on the platform, though a TikTok representative declined to comment.

The journey began on March 4, 2023, when Chody posted a video praising Golden Peach as her ideal eyeshadow. Upon learning from a follower that the product was discontinued, she embarked on a documented quest to find a dupe. Starting in August 2023, she tested numerous alternatives, including products from Hourglass and Sisley Paris, often visiting Sephora and Ulta stores with swatches of the original shade for comparison. The series gained significant viral momentum between late 2023 and early 2024 as Chody tried upwards of 50 different shades.

While several brands approached Chody for collaborations in early 2024, she declined offers that did not align with her personal connection to the brand or her standards for formula quality. Although she initially hoped Tom Ford Beauty would revive Golden Peach, she noted that after 18 months of discussion, a return of the original product seemed unlikely. Saie eventually reached out in the fall of 2025, proposing a collaboration where Chody would be involved in every step of the process.

Chody traveled to Saie's laboratory outside Milan to work with the team on the SuperSuede Baked Eyeshadow formula. Over several days, she tested colors and made precise adjustments to achieve the perfect balance of shimmer and bronze. The resulting shade, named Bellini to fit the brand's Italian-themed collection, utilizes a formula baked low and slow for 12 hours to ensure long wear. Chody continued testing other rose-gold options until announcing Bellini on October 1, noting that while she found close dupes from RMS, Armani Beauty, and Make Up For Ever, nothing fully replaced the original.

Looking ahead, Chody expressed interest in future collaborations despite having no concrete plans yet. She revealed that her next target for revival is a specific teal-green eyeliner from Chantecaille, which she previously used to enhance her green eyes. Chody emphasized her admiration for the complexity of formulating beauty products and remains open to bringing back other discontinued items in the future.
