ISEA2026 Dubai is preparing a 10-day programme dedicated to electronic and emerging art, with exhibitions, workshops and experiences examining the relationship between place, data and identity under the theme “ELYAH: Constellating Place, Data and Identity.”
For the first time, the event will combine a citywide Artistic Programme with an Online Academic Programme. Following more than 1,000 submissions, the Artistic Programme will present selected interactive installations, exhibitions and live performances across more than 20 venues in Dubai, including The Foundry, ARTE Museum and Etihad Museum.
Al Wasl Dome and the Theatre of Digital Art will host more site-specific digital installations designed to create immersive experiences. The programme will also include workshops focused on calligraphy, letter art and typography using digital tools. One of them, “Calligraphy to Code,” will feature conversations with local artists about the evolution of traditional art forms in contemporary settings.
The academic programme will feature panels and presentations exploring how people relate to the networks around them. Its courses include “Charting Constellations,” “Starlinked Worlds” and “Celestial Dialogues.” A dedicated “Ecological Future Labs” track will examine sustainable practices through critical thinking.
Maitha Ali Al Blooshi, Director of the Emerging Arts Department at Dubai Culture, said the event brings together different disciplines and areas of expertise, allowing art, research and technology to influence one another. She added that the programme supports the development and sustainability of the digital and emerging arts sector while creating space for new ideas, artworks and creative approaches.
